There is a lot going on in our parish during the next few weeks. Here are some highlights:
+A big THANK YOU to Michael Daiber for crafting a communion table for St. Mark out of one of St. Mark's original pews. It looks beautiful and will be dedicated at St. Mark's homecoming service on August 27.
+Thank you to those packing weekend food bags at Zion this week for children in our community. And thank you to Ginny and Bill Gardner for heading up this ministry.
+This Saturday, members of St. Mark will be giving out cold drinks in front of the Willis Village Mart, to relieve our neighbors' thirst and to share information about the congregation. Thank you to those who have volunteered and to Billy Motley, who had cups printed with St. Mark service and contact information. "I was ... thirsty, and you gave me drink." - Matthew 25:35.
+Oak Grove Pavilion welcomes the Zephyr Lightning Bolts this Saturday, July 22 at 7:00 pm. This family band has won several prizes at the Galax Fiddler's Convention and will be on the Oak Grove stage for the first time. Come on out for a magical night of music under the stars. As always, admission is free; a free will offering will be collected to benefit the six non-profit groups Oak Grove is helping this year.
+Reminder: Zion's Homecoming service will be Sunday, July 30 at 10:30 am. This will be a joint worship service, followed by a potluck meal.
+BADTV, you know you want it...BADTV, you gotta have it.... They're back! The Zion Players, under the direction of playwright and director Vickie Sowers, will be performing BADTV 3 at the Oak Grove Pavilion on August 18, 19, 25 and 26. Mark your calendars - you won't want to miss a single BAD moment!
In God's hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all humankind. - Job 12:10
