This evening we have the first of five weekly Lenten Bible studies, focusing on David Lose’s Making Sense of Scripture series. We’ll gather at Zion at 6:00 pm for a simple meal, then start the study, which will incorporate video and discussion. As we look at the way the Bible tells the story of God’s love throughout all of history and the way God’s love expresses itself in Jesus’ sacrifice, we will gain a greater understanding of where we fit in God’s story. The way I’m reading the weather forecast is that we will be able to have our Bible study, then get home before any flakes start to fall. I hope you can make it this evening. Next week’s meal and Bible study will be on Wednesday at St. Mark at 6:00 pm.
Please keep in your prayers:*Phyllis Poff, home from the hospital and recuperating from surgery.*Pat Burton, dealing with breathing issues and staying with her daughter in Bedford.*Chick Fox, also living with breathing issues and homebound at the moment.*Norah Mitchell (my mom), who had chemotherapy on Monday.*All those you know who need God’s healing touch (and those you don't know, too).
I’ll be leaving Friday to go to my mother’s house in North Carolina for a few days; I expect to be back Tuesday. Thank you to the lay leaders of both congregations who will be leading worship this Sunday!
And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you. 1 Thessalonians 3:12If you’re going to care about the fall of the sparrow you can’t pick and choose who’s going to be the sparrow. It’s everybody. Madeleine L’Engle
