BAD-TV 3. If you haven't seen it (or even if you have), come out to Oak Grove Pavilion onFriday or Saturday night at 7:00 pm to see what has been tickling our audience's funny bones. Nowhere else in Floyd will you see cows from outer space, rodents dance or notorious spies Boris and Natasha, all in the same night! A HUGE thank you to Vickie Sowers for sharing her brilliance with us all.
As of this morning, we need one person to help with the Oak Grove canteen on Saturday night. Friday night is covered. Please contact Virginia Neukirch if you can help on Saturday: firstname.lastname@example.org or 745-7157. Thank you to those who are volunteering!
St. Mark's homecoming is this coming Sunday, August 27, at 10:30 am. There will be one service this Sunday, followed by a potluck lunch. Let's all worship and share a meal together as we celebrate the long ministry given to us by God.
Mark your calendars for God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday, September 10, at 3:00 pm at the Motley home. We will be making sensory items for the students at the Minnick School, a ministry of Lutheran Family Services in Salem. Sensory items stimulate smell, sight and sound for students with learning and developmental disabilities. We'll have a meal together after our work together. This is an event for all ages!
Please keep in your prayers: Pat Burton, who is home receiving hospice care, Randall Wells, at home recovering from hip replacement surgery and Joe Sowers, recovering at home from back surgery.
Finally, here is a prayer for us all, from the Lutheran Book of Worship: “O God, you created all people in your image. We thank you for the astonishing variety of races and cultures in this world. Enrich our lives by ever-widening circles of fellowship, and show us your presence in those who differ most from us, until our knowledge of your love is made perfect in our love for all your children; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Amen.
