Billy saw the orthopedic surgeon today. He has a fracture in the fibula of his left leg and will be in a boot for 4 to 6 weeks. He's still on crutches but hopefully will be able to wean off those and start putting weight on his foot soon. The doctor also has some ideas on how to treat Billy's arthritic knee, which is swollen from the fall but has been bothering him for quite some time. Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers for healing and thank you to Rosemary Wyman for making us both laugh with the attached cartoon of how the appointment could have gone.
The Virginia Synod Assembly is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Roanoke College. Thank you to Diane Geissler, Marty Holliday and Billy Motley for representing the synod there. And thank you to Bill Gardner and Laura LeRoy for sharing Bishop Mauney's message at worship this coming Sunday. The assembly will be livestreamed and the article below tells you how to access the video.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes today. They sure made my birthday fun!
Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation. - Senator Robert F. Kennedy
