I hope you got the chance to watch the program that aired on PBS last week: "Martin Luther, the Idea that Changed the World." if you didn't, this link may enable you to see it: http://www.pbs.org/program/martin-luther-idea-changed-world/. (I think whether you can watch it or not depends on the player(s) installed on your computer.) Billy and watched the program on Sunday night. The movie was a history lesson blended with a story of faithfulness and tenacity. The PBS program reminded me of the gift Luther was to the Reformation and of the enduring legacy of his preaching and teaching. We who live 500 years after Luther are beholden to his words and work and even more grateful for the way God worked through Luther, a faithful servant of God and a flawed human being.
Thank you to all who helped with and supported the Oak Grove Pavilion this summer. Our music programs and Vickie's play raised a total of over $3700 for the non-profit organizations Oak Grove support: Reading in Floyd is Fun, Plenty!, NRV Cares, Floyd Emergency Assistance Program, Heart of the Child Music, Christmas for Children and Silver Bells!
Please keep Jan Fullbright, the mother of Phil, in your prayers. Jan is hospitalized with multiple issues and is undergoing tests.
"May our dear Lord Jesus Christ show you his hands and his side and gladden your heart with his love, and may you behold and hear only him until you find your joy in him. Amen." - Martin Luther
